Announcing Perry’s Fireside Groundbreaking!

Perry’s Fireside is a cozy 30’ x 65’ patio nestled in the pine knoll just west of the start area,close to the Nine Mile Chalet. The project is part of a dream Perry had who had a major impact on the club with his deep involvement in many projects and programs over the years. Perry recognized that the forest was lacking an outdoor social/meeting area and the Dau Family approached the county to build this special fireside patio in Perry’s Memory. The county agreed because they also recognized the need and benefits of this type of outdoor space. Adam King of Mitch King & Sons has designed this special fireside patio and he will be the primary builder. Full funding has been secured and groundbreaking is scheduled for Monday, August 15th. A formal groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 8/15/2022 at 2:00pm at Nine Mile. The Dau family is grateful to the Wausau Nordic Ski Club for being the non-profit fiscal sponsor of this project. Club members are welcome to attend this short ceremony. A larger and more casual ribbon cutting celebration will be scheduled following completion of this special project, sometime in October.
