Club Meeting and Awards Night
March 11, 2019
Plan to join us on Monday, March 11, for the Club’s annual meeting and awards night. With the record snowfalls received in February, it will also be a good evening to get in another ski this year before or after the meeting. We’ll have the modified pot luck dinner. The Club will grill up some food and provide refreshments. We ask you to bring either an appitizer, side dish, or dessert to share.
The evenig will include recogonizing many of our club members who have contributed in one way or another to our work and also to announce scholarship recipeints for some of our seniors going on to college next year.
In addition to our awards night, we will also vote on the board membership for the coming year. The board is currently comprised of 10 members of which have rotating 3 year terms. This year, we have four positions that are up for election for the positions held by John Burke, Greg Kresse, Peg Stamp and Babs Zehren. If you would like to become a part of our board or would like to nominate someone, send an email to the club at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Babs has also served as our treasurer for several years and is looking to give up that position. Let us know if that might be something you’d be interested in taking on. She will help in the transistion as she and her husband, Tom, will remain involved in the Club and want to assure smooth transition.
Besides board membership, we are also in the stage of creating some subcommittees and will gladly accept your name as an intersted person in leading/helping out from a non-board position. While the exact structure of our subcommittees is not firmly established, you can assume that we will have committees for youth programs, social/membership, race events, and ski swap. You can be a member of one or more subcommittees which would ideally have at least three people and could have more dependig on the scope of the committee. We’ll be sending out more information as this evolves, however, if you have an interest in a particular area, we’d be happy to hear from you to get you involved. You can email your interest to the email@example.com or talk to any one of our current board members.
So, plan on March 11 for a little food and refreshment along with a short program. The gathering will begin at 5:30 pm with dinner around 6:30. It all takes place at the chalet at Nine Mile which also means you need to bring your skis since it looks like we will have plenty of snow yet.
