We are always in need of volunteers for a variety of projects and programs we offer. Most don’t require any special skiils or abilities. Below is a list of help needed currently and how you can volunteer.

Snow Striders Helpers Needed – 2022 Sessions

We need volunteers (no experience needed) to help with the Snow Striders program (Sundays in January and February) – more info here:  https://www.ironbull.org/snow-striders-volunteers/

There are a several positions needed for the four weeks of the program. You do not have to commit to all sessions but anything you can do would be greatly apprecaited. You do not need to have kids in the program. For more information on the Snow Striders program, see our information page on this site. Questions can be directed to snowstriders@wausaunordic.org and Andrea Larson, the program lead, will get back to you.

Adult Lessons – Sign-up Available

If you would like to volunteer to assist with our Adult Lessons, which are held on Tuesday evenings in January, you can click the sign-up page to pick the class you want to work. There is also a need for some volunteers to help with equipment distribution and restocking which is an indoor job. Direct any quesitons you may have to Rick Barnes at adultlessons@wausaunordic.org .

Badger State Games

The Wausau Nordic Ski Club and the Central Wisconsin Visitors Bureau will be co-hosting the Badger State Games – Nordic Skiing events on January 29 at Nine Mile Forest. There will be a need for volunteers in a number of roles over the Friday set-up and the races on Saturday. A more complete list of jobs where help is needed coming soon, but if you would like to help out, email John at bsg@wausaunordic.org. Volunteers will get a BSG t-shirt. On Friday, for set-up, we will have a lunch provided at Noon and Saturday volunteers will get a ticket for a lunch avaialble from concessions.

Chalet Supplies Helper

We are looking for a person or two who would be responsible for making sure we have our supplies stocked at Nine Mile in the serving area. We maintain a supply of eating and drinking items as well as some inventory of cookies, hot cocoa mix and cider amoung other things. If you would like to volunteer to help keep the items stocked, let us know. Email John at info@wausaunordic.org and he can fill you in on more of the details. Typically, the area needs to be stocked at the beginning of the year and maybe checked a few times to make sure we have enough of everything. The Club would reimburse you for the supplies purchased.
